Dads for Boys is a 501(c)(3) charity that has been helping kids for over 30 years. The original founder, John Pyle, is still at it today carrying on the mission. Here is a recent video interview. What makes them unique is their fund raising. The primary source of donations is from used aircraft. Although they do accept boats, RVs (including motorhomes), and cars. Our, earn money donate aircraft to charity, program works several ways.

If someone refers a donor who actually makes a donation, the referrer will receive 10% of the sale price. Additionally, if the donated item was for sale through a dealer, they will relist the item with the same dealer for a higher commission.

As an example, if an aircraft dealer was marketing a seller’s airplane and was able to get that donated, Dads for Boys would relist the aircraft with the same dealer at a higher commission. So, a win win for everyone.

Additionally, there are occasions where the aircraft appraises for more than it can actually be sold for. Here, the owner can actually take the higher appraised value as a charitable contribution on their tax return. After-market upgrades and refurbishments can add to the appraised value but may not add to the sale price.

One such case was an aircraft donated to Dads for Boys that sold for $150,000. But the owner had done many upgrades and rebuilds to the aircraft. The aircraft actually appraised for over $900,000. The owner received a $900,000 tax credit.

Your tax-deductible gift will enable us to introduce aviation to the underprivileged and fatherless across the U.S. In addition to our own programs, we utilize the EAA Young Eagle Program.
